Filter Life
Filter Life Expectancy: This is totally dependent on many varying factors. The most important being the area of coverage, level of contaminants, operating hours, filters physical size and quality.
Due to these variants, it is simply not possible to calculate exact life expectancy of the filters. Your Olansi Air Purifier will signal when it’s time to inspect, clean (pre-filter) and/or replace the filters. Reminder times are factory set for frequent inspections (500 & 1500 hours).
Hepa filters begin life a vibrant white. Discoloration from white to brown (or even black) occurs over time as the airs harmful particulates are caught by the filter. As previously mentioned, life expectancy depends on the level of contaminants etc.
Indication that your Hepa filter requires replacement can also be determined when the following occurs.
- Higher than usual Particulate Matter (PM) level readings. This will cause the purifier to operate at higher levels more regularly.
When Hepa filters have reached their containment limit, they will release the untrapped particles back into the air causing the higher readings.
Hepa filters can last as long as 12 months.

Activated Carbon filters do not discolour like Hepa filters. The Carbon granules absorb odours, gases, VOC’s etc. Indication that the carbon filter has reached it’s limit of absorption, and now requires replacement, can also be determined by the return of odours originally employed to remove.
Carbon filters can last as long as 12 months.
Pre-Filters should be inspected and cleaned regularly.
Please Note: Regularly moving from room to room decreases filter life. By doing so, the filtration process is restarted for each new area introduced.
